Professor Critchley, professor of reproductive medicine at the University of Edinburgh Institute for Regeneration and Repair added: “Heavy menstrual bleeding is debilitating, too often normalised and is under recognised and under researched.

Heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB) has a debilitating effect on quality of life for millions of women worldwide and controlling the symptoms whilst preserving fertility will be life-changing for younger women.
