Residents will have the opportunity to vote for 33 candidates in the by-election. The previous record for a House of Commons seat was 28 candidates during the Haltemprice and Howden by-election in 2008. All the major parties, including the Conservatives, Labour and Liberal Democrats, have decided not to field a candidate in this election. Despite there being so many candidates only some have registered addresses in the Clacton area or even in Essex. So here is a list of where every candidate is based.
