Today, scientists have introduced a new molecule that plays a suicidal role in inducing the death of cancer cells! By suppressing the expression of genes that sustain cancer cells, these RNA molecules trigger their degeneration and thus cell death. This process prevents the acquisition of molecular resistance, thereby hindering cancer development. In the studied case, scientists observed an additional characteristic of these interfering RNAs: besides inhibiting genetic expression, they also induce the death of cancer cells. Triggering its activation at the early stages of cancer development could destroy degenerating cells and halt the spread of cancer.
