His Excellency President Adama Barrow on Monday, 10th August 2026, laid the foundation stone for the 52-kilometre Ngayen Sanjal Road project in the North Bank Region (NBR), and inaugurated the 12-kilometre Njau Loop Road in the Central River Region (CRR) North. Speaking after the events, President Barrow said the projects reflect his administration’s commitment to equitable development across the country. He said the Ngayen Sanjal road should be seen beyond its physical structure. “The Central River Region (CRR) North is the food basket of our nation, suggesting that the prosperity of the region implies prosperity for The Gambia. Let me emphasise to all of you residing in CRR North that these roads are yours,” he said.
