Around 20,000 people were expected at the Honiton Show, where organisers hailed a successful day despite bluetongue resulting in fewer livestock ultimately attending. Show secretary Marcelle Connor said: “It’s been a fantastic day. Among the attractions were a new alpaca village and cookery theatre, while livestock remained at the heart of the event. Marcelle said: “We’ve had further enhanced vet checks and taken a lot of veterinary advice in the lead-up to the show. Honiton was the eighth or ninth show Liz had attended this year, with some events lasting three days.
