Tournament director Scott Peavy visited the Red River last November after a long courtship by Fargo-Moorhead tourism officials. "But we don't see trophy channel cats like you have," Peavy said of the Red River. Those catfish come in smaller, at 20-plus pounds, but the narrow confines of the Red River can test an angler's skills. "We are looking for opportunities to showcase [the Red River]," said Stephonie Broughton of Visit Fargo-Moorhead.
