HQPeople in France no longer have to fear constant, unsolicited telemarketing calls from businesses, as they've been banned by new legislation. All sectors of business are affected by the ban, but some may still end up getting telemarketing calls on their phone. The group's president, Marie-Amandine Stévenin added: "This observation also holds true online and on the street, which are saturated with demands to consume...This is a victory for consumers, the vast majority of whom do not want to receive sales calls." This move isn't without its potential controversy, though, as one government minister believes that the restrictions could result in the loss of up to 50,000 jobs. Although after finding that 97% of people were annoyed at telemarketing calls in 2025, it seems this is an issue that unites the vast majority of France.
