As predicted, the price of gas and diesel went up overnight after the Energy Board used the interrupter clause to change the price early this week. Gas increased by 6.5 cents a litre and now goes for a minimum of $1.78.9 in Cape Breton. Diesel went up by 9.4 cents. The minimum price for a litre of diesel on the Island is now $2.31.3 cents. The Energy Board says the early changes were necessary because of significant shifts in the market prices.
