Head coach of the Super Falcons, Justin Madugu, and Nigerian forward, Asisat Oshoala, say the team is determined not to follow the fate suffered by the Super Eagles who missed out at the last FIFA World Cup. They promised that the Falcons would take advantage of their second chance at qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be staged in Brazil. Recall that the Super Eagles faced a similar situation late last year after failing to grab an automatic World Cup ticket, settled for the African play-off . The World Cup ticket is at stake, so this is the time when we really need everyone to support the team. Meanwhile, Nigeria remains one of the seven countries to have featured in every World Cup since its introduction in 1991.
