RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Aug, 2026) The Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi launched a special tree plantation campaign at Maliah Park on the occasion of National Minorities Day, with active participation from representatives of the United Pentecostal Church and Global Community Development, Satellite Town. Pastor Pervez Philip, Amon Pervez and other participants planted saplings during the campaign and expressed their commitment to protecting trees, promoting plantation and making urban areas greener. The Horticulture Agency officials said tree plantation played an important role in maintaining a clean environment, beautifying urban areas, mitigating the effects of climate change and ensuring a healthy environment for future generations. The participation of members of different religious communities in the plantation drive was termed a positive example of interfaith harmony, national unity and collective efforts for environmental protection. The agency urged citizens, civil society and religious and social organizations to actively participate in plantation campaigns and ensure proper care of saplings to transform Rawalpindi into a greener, cleaner and more beautiful city.
