Norway's Government Pension Fund Global, the world's largest sovereign wealth fund, posted a record 1.75 trillion Norwegian crowns ($184.3 billion) profit in the first half of 2026, driven primarily by strong equity-market returns, particularly in technology stocks. The fund, managed by Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), was worth about $2.3 trillion at the end of June. The result came after the fund lost 636 billion crowns in the first quarter, equivalent to about $68.4 billion, when global equities were hit by the Middle East conflict. Nvidia, Apple and Alphabet Lead the Technology PortfolioThe fund's holdings show the scale of its exposure to the global technology sector. As of June 30, it held a 1.28% stake in Nvidia worth about $62 billion, a 1.24% Apple stake worth $52 billion and a 1.17% Alphabet stake worth $50 billion, according to NBIM's holdings data cited by Reuters.
