The moment closed out the broadcast and immediately altered the direction of the men's title picture heading into Heatwave on Aug. 30. Grayson Waller and Cruz Montana were wrestling to determine the next challenger for Tony D'Angelo's NXT Championship, with D'Angelo watching from ringside. Fatu dropped Montana with a Samoan Drop, then hit Waller with a Superman Punch. Fatu is the son of the late Eddie Fatu, who competed for WWE as Umaga until he died in 2009. Waller addressed the debut afterward, posting on social media that Fatu was "just what WWE needs, another overrated Uce."
