Μake us preferred on GoogleA 61 year old man died Wednesday morning after falling onto the tracks of the Athens Metro at the Agios Antonios station, according to Greek media reports.
Ten firefighters and four vehicles were dispatched to recover the man from the tracks.
The incident forced a temporary halt to operations at three consecutive stations on Line 2: Anthoupoli, Peristeri and Agios Antonios.
Agios Antonios, located in the western Athens district of the same name, sits on the Elliniko to Anthoupoli line, one of the network’s busiest routes connecting the northwestern suburbs to the southern coast.
