Titled The Manchester Chronicles, the book is a personal "folk-telling" of Manchester’s musical heyday, from the rise of punk in the 1970s to the rave culture boom of the 1990s. The foreword of the book has been written by Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder and a host of other local icons have also provided review quotes. Elbow’s Guy Garvey wrote: "This is the greatest rock and roll book ever written. New Order’s Peter Hook wrote: "I am so delighted that the Gentleman of Manchester Music has decided to tell us all his secrets! "Clint knows it all, has done it all, and along the way has amazed us all with his loyalty, his friendship, his 'Joie De Vivre' and his own wonderful music.
