According to sources close to the Lewis family, minority shareholder Levy was granted 60 days to invest at the matching price to maintain his ENIC stake at approximately 29 per cent.
"Daniel committed to funding and failed to do so, despite the extended deadline," a source close to the Lewis family told PA."The family is focused on the football, investing in the team, backing the management and creating a stable environment for the club."
Meanwhile, PA understands the Lewis family forms part of a consortium which has submitted an offer in an ongoing auction to buy a London-based basketball team in the soon-to-be created NBA Europe franchise.
