Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has announced that Malaysians will be getting a total of 10GB of free mobile data in conjunction with the upcoming National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations. This comes as part of the Rahmah National Day and Malaysia Day 2026 Rebate Incentive, with the Communications Ministry working together with the five major telcos – Maxis, CelcomDigi, TM, U Mobile and YES – to make it happen. More specifically, Fahmi said that eligible Malaysian citizens will receive 5GB of data on National Day on 31 August, and the remaining 5GB on Malaysia Day on 16 September. According to the report, the announcement was made at the National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) 2026 Celebration Sponsorship Contribution Presentation Ceremony. The total value of confirmed sponsorships to date is noted to be RM48.63 million, which breaks down into RM2.7 million in cash, and RM45.93 million in goods and services.
