IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT AGENTS in the United States may soon be wearing specialised gloves designed to deliver painful electric shocks. The gloves deliver a sharp electric shock when they make contact with a person’s skin. The ACLU said last week that it had filed 54 legal claims related to alleged abuse by immigration agents. “Since president Trump took office again, immigration agents have terrorised communities in workplaces, schools and neighbourhoods across the country,” it said. In January, immigration agents shot and killed two people in Minneapolis and since then, federal agents have also killed two more people, in Texas and in Maine.
