The 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has called on Ghanaians to be more responsible when exercising their freedom of expression. Dr. Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, said the way people speak and engage in public discussions plays an important role in shaping Ghana’s democratic culture. “Democracy requires freedom of expression, but it also requires responsibility of expression,” he stated. NAPO encouraged Ghanaians to build a political culture where people can disagree without attacking or insulting one another. In his view, criticism should help people reflect on their actions and contribute to solving problems in society.
