Hartmann said all of the society’s animals were evacuated and those that weren’t ready to be released have been transferred to the nearest wildlife centre — the BC Wildlife Park in Kamloops. Since then, the BC Wildlife Park has been taking care of two otters, a porcupine, two goldeneye ducks and a mallard duck. They’re being cared for in the park’s wildlife rehabilitation facility, away from public view. Reynolds said the BC Wildlife Park and Interior Wildlife Rehabilitation Society’s rehab facilities are largely funded by donations and grants.
