A third phase of accessibility upgrades at Emmerling Park in Indiana Township will expand access to the site’s 120 acres of beauty, officials said.
A project to extend a sidewalk to support visitors with disablities from the pedestrian bridge to the pavilion will “allow access to enjoy the most picturesque area of Emmerling Park,” Township Manager Dan Anderson said.
Anderson said the project will complete the connection from the parking lot, across Deer Creek to the pavilion.
Phase 2 followed in 2024 and included an ADA sidewalk from the parking pad to the bridge over Little Deer Creek.
Emmerling Park has become a gem in the township’s expansive park system.
