The properties, located on Dickens Drive in Newport, are the latest to be closed under a crackdown on anti-social behaviour and alleged drug dealing. Gwent Police, in partnership with Hedyn, has now secured closure orders on four flats in the area since the end of last month. PC Claire Drayton, crime and disorder reduction officer at the Pill neighbourhood policing team, said: "We’ve worked in partnership with Hedyn to secure closure orders on all four properties on Dickens Drive successfully after calls from the community reporting their concerns to us. "Everyone deserves to feel safe in their home and the impact on residents and businesses has been considerable." The closure orders, granted by Gwent Magistrates' Court, will remain in place for three months.
