The increased prices are attributed to shorter numbers fuelling demand, leading to what was described as "an excellent trade" in all weight categories. Heavy, well-fed sheep were reportedly the easiest to sell, reaching prices as high as £205 for a 60.5kg lamb from D J Williams. Other heavy lambs fetched around £176 - £198.50, with lambs just over 52kg trading in the £180s. Lighter lambs had a lower turnout this week, with only 350 on offer, but smarter cross-bred types fetched 350p/kg - 360p/kg. This demand resulted in an average price of 335.0p/kg, with a top price of £205.00 for a 60.5kg graded lamb.
