The Farmer’s Wife, written by Hannah Khalil and inspired by Helen Rebanks’ best-selling memoir of life on a Cumbrian farm, will run at Theatre by the Lake from Friday, September 18 to Saturday, October 10. The story unfolds in a single day, following three generations of women as they navigate family, work, and the unending demands of life on the land. A spokesperson for Theatre by the Lake said: "By turns honest, moving and surprising, The Farmer’s Wife is a story of resilience and community in a changing world." The production highlights the often-unseen emotional labour and endurance behind farming life in Cumbria. Tickets are available from £12 from the Theatre by the Lake website.
