Huddersfield and Slaithwaite stations will be closed from September 19 to October 4, with work taking place around the clock to improve reliability, increase capacity, and support faster, more frequent services in the future. Sophie Leishman, Transpennine route upgrade sponsor, said: "This is another significant stage in the transformation of Huddersfield station and the wider railway. At Huddersfield, the subway will be extended towards platforms four, five, and six to accommodate longer trains, and improvements will continue on the historic station roof. Across the wider route, teams will carry out drainage upgrades, lay new track, and install overhead line equipment to support future electrified services. Rail replacement buses will run throughout the works, with Brighouse station serving as the main bus and rail interchange.
