Southampton City Council is preparing to bring in camera enforcement at key routes, including the bus gate and yellow box junction at Above Bar Street, New Road and Civic Centre Road, as well as the bus gate at Cooper’s Lane in Woolston.
The decision follows traffic surveys that revealed a significant level of non-compliance in these areas, highlighting the need for additional enforcement.

"The new cameras are there to help ensure the existing rules are followed, making journeys more reliable for bus passengers, reducing unnecessary congestion, and improving safety for everyone travelling through these areas."
Enforcement start dates will be announced in due course.
