Ashley John, of Derwydd Avenue in Gwaun Cae Gurwen, appeared at Swansea Crown Court charged with a series of online offences during October 2024. John sent the decoy pictures of himself in the shower and asked for pictures of the ‘girl’ in return. He also sent explicit sexual images. The court heard he attempted to persuade the girl to engage in sexual activity and then describe it to him. He later pleaded guilty to attempted sexual communication with a child, attempting to cause a child to watch a sexual act, and attempting to cause a child to engage in penetrative sexual activity.
