The fire broke out in Queen's Avenue just before 11am yesterday and residents watched the blaze destroy the property's roof within 45 minutes. A resident from Queen's Avenue, who watched the incident unfold with his two children, said: "It was terrifying. Another Queen's Avenue resident said people had been evacuated from nearby homes as thick black smoke rose from the property. The public was asked to avoid the area as the firefighters tackled the blaze with Clarence Road and Queen's Avenue closed off.
