The live shows, Terrible Tudors and Awful Egyptians, will run at Storyhouse from Thursday, October 22, to Sunday, October 25, 2026, promising a family-friendly journey through the gruesome and hilarious side of the past. Terrible Tudors takes audiences from the reign of Henry VIII to the end of Elizabeth I, exploring the legends and lies of the Tudor dynasty. Meanwhile, Awful Egyptians transports viewers to ancient Egypt, uncovering the foul facts of death, decay, and the afterlife. Horrible Histories: Terrible Tudors and Awful Egyptians are written by Terry Deary, Neal Foster, and JP Cherrington, based on Deary’s bestselling books. The Birmingham Stage Company, which has produced all the Horrible Histories live shows since 2005, is behind the latest tour.
