The club donated a signed football to a fundraiser in support of the film by director Stuart Armstrong, raising nearly £4,000 for Leavers’ Day, a coming-of-age story set in Cumbria in 2003.
Stuart Armstrong, Carlisle-born writer and director of the film, said: "It’s brilliant to have Carlisle United behind us.
Mr Armstrong’s previous short film, Meat Raffle, also set in Carlisle and filmed at the Sportsman pub, received acclaim from actor Sir Ian McKellen and was nominated for Film4 Best British Short.
Mr Armstrong said: "We want this to be more than just one short film.
"We want it to show what can happen when local businesses, filmmakers, performers and audiences all get behind an idea.
