Historic tall ship brings in tourists and visitors adding 'extra dimension' to town

The Nao Santa Maria, an impressive full-scale replica of Christopher Columbus' flagship, left Whitehaven Harbour on Monday morning, August 10, after being docked in the port from July 28.
Deputy Lord-Lieutenant for Cumbria, Gerard Richardson, organised the visit of the ship to the town, with many local businesses, organisations, and people sponsoring aspects of the visit.

Gerard wished to thank the crew of the tall ship, saying that they had been 'lovely' throughout the visit.
