Neuadd Maldwyn in Welshpool is now home to 72 residents, housed across 66 apartments in a modern extra-care facility designed to support older adults’ independence. ClwydAlyn housing manager Brendan McWhinnie said: "Living at Neuadd Maldwyn has made an invaluable difference to our residents. The facility has already helped Powys County Council avoid more than £500,000 annually in social care costs. Neuadd Maldwyn was redeveloped from the former Powys County Council offices using a combination of Welsh Government funding and private finance. Karen Sherwood, regional operations director Wales at CCH Group, said: "Abacare are proud to be working in partnership with Powys County Council and ClwydAlyn to deliver high-quality care and support within Neuadd Maldwyn."
