Egidijus Abramavicius, 34, of Grange Road, and Aurimas Kazmiruk, 39, of Jeffries Road, were unanimously convicted by a jury of causing grievous bodily harm with intent following an assault in Ipswich town centre on April 5, 2024. Ipswich Crown Court heard the pair acted together against the victim, repeatedly punching and kicking him during an attack that began outside an Ipswich convenience store and continued into an alleyway beyond CCTV coverage. Both men were sentenced on August 10 at Ipswich Crown Court, despite only Abramavicius being in attendance. Describing the incident as “gratuitous violence” aggravated by alcohol consumption, Judge Wilson sentenced both men to seven-and-a-half years' imprisonment. However, Abramavicius faced further convictions passed on from Carlisle Crown Court which brought his total sentence up to eight years.
