Josh Bower, who lives on Caerleon Road, received an email from his e‑liquid retailer setting out how the government’s Vaping Products Duty will change prices from 1 October 2026. Josh says he currently pays £20 for 20 small 10ml bottles of basic liquid, roughly enough for three weeks. "Tobacco duty will be increased at the same time as the introduction of the Vaping Products Duty to keep the incentive to choose vaping over smoking." They said the prospect of significantly higher prices for customers “doesn’t look good” and warned some people may turn to unregulated or illegal products if legitimate e-liquid becomes unaffordable. "The Vaping Duty Stamps Scheme, which sits alongside this will help tackle the illicit trade in nicotine and vaping products.
