Welsh Labour leader and Welsh Secretary back tech jobs in Newport

Ken Skates, leader of Welsh Labour, joined newly-appointed Secretary of State for Wales Stephen Kinnock on August 10 for their first joint engagement at KLA, a company based in Newport that manufactures equipment for semiconductor production.

KLA currently employs more than 700 people in Newport and offers more than 30 apprenticeship positions, along with internships and work experience programmes.
Stephen Kinnock MP, Secretary of State for Wales, said: "Wales has a proud industrial heritage, and now we’re looking to the industries of the future.
Newport City Council contributed a further £750,000, bringing total public investment to £7 million over four years.
