Peter Craig, of the town’s High Street, sent the offensive voicemails containing threats of violence to his sibling on February 8. The incident was reported to the police and Craig was arrested and charged. When he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court, the 26-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence and had a not guilty plea accepted by the Crown to him assaulting the woman. Sheriff John Cook sentenced Craig to pay a fine of £380 and issued him with a non-harassment order prohibiting him from approaching or contacting his sister for the next six months.
