Friends of Anderton and Marbury welcomed High Sheriff Lynn Pegler DL to Marbury Country Park on Saturday, August 8, where the group was given a High Sheriff's Award for outstanding community service. Chairman of the group, Alan Redley, said the occasion was 'doubly significant' because as well as receiving the award, the group officially opened an exhibition showcasing photographs submitted by visitors as part of its 2024 Photographic Competition. Following the presentation, the High Sheriff formally opened the photography exhibition to members of the public. The Friends of Anderton and Marbury group supports conservation, access and community projects across the Northwich Woodlands area, helping residents and visitors enjoy some of Cheshire's best-loved countryside sites.
