Haydon Wick Parish Office on Thames Avenue will be open until Friday as a Cool Welcome Space between 12pm and 3.30pm, offering residents a break from the heat in a calm, cool indoor environment. A spokesman for Haydon Wick Council said: "Please do drop in if you need somewhere to cool down during the hottest part of the day." Haydon Wick Council is also reminding the public to take basic safety steps during the heat. The advice includes drinking plenty of water, wearing sunscreen, and limiting time in direct sunlight, particularly during peak hours. The spokesman said: "Check on friends, family, and neighbours—especially older people and young children."
