The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH), which runs Princess Royal Hospital and the Community Diagnostic Centre in Telford and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, has been named a finalist in the 2026 Health Service Journal (HSJ) Awards.
The trust is in the running for Trust of the Year, Performance Recovery, and Modernising Diagnostics.
SaTH was removed from special measures after delivering its financial plan and improving performance across elective, outpatients and cancer care.
The trust’s work on the TRIOMIC cancer trial also earned it a place on the shortlist for the Modernising Diagnostics Award.
The trial led to the redesign of the Colorectal Urgent Suspected Cancer pathway to be delivered at the Community Diagnostic Centre in Telford.
