Repeatedly phoning and emailing a woman, and turning up at her home, landed a Bramshaw man with a suspended sentence and 10-year restraining order. Shane Mason (65), of Lower Barford Cottages, was found guilty at Southampton Magistrates’ Court having previously denied stalking the victim at Hedge End between May and November 2024. Mason was sentenced at Southampton Magistrates' CourtRuling the offence was so serious that only a custodial sentence could be justified, the Bench handed down a 16-week jail term suspended for 18 months, with a supervision requirement. The domestic nature of the offence, the fact it continued over about six months, and its impact on the victim, saw the suspended term increased from 12 weeks to 16. The restraining order forbids Mason from contacting the victim and from entering an area marked out on a map.
