Monica Vaughan, a retired British athlete and multiple gold medal-winning Paralympic swimmer, has been named patron of Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW. Monica said: "I am honoured to become a patron of Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW. Monica Vaughan OBE has been named patron of Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW. Helen Hamblen, chief executive of Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW, welcomed the appointment. Monica will work with Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW to highlight the challenges faced by those affected by dementia and encourage community engagement.
