CPUT students vow to continue shutdown until demands are met

Students from several CPUT residences travelled to the campus for a mass meeting, with groups stopping at residences along the way to mobilise more students to join the protest.
According to Gela, the failure to address those demands has resulted in students pushing ahead with what they describe as an institutional shutdown.
The student leadership’s position is that the disruption will continue until the university responds to the issues raised.
For students, the focus remains on their demands, particularly the cost of accommodation and the gap between residence fees and NSFAS funding.
With students vowing to maintain the shutdown until their demands are met, the dispute now puts further pressure on CPUT to find a way forward while university operations remain disrupted.
