The Inn Collection Group has applied for listed building consent to carry out essential repair work at The Swan on Keswick Road, Grasmere. Proposed works include re-roofing several sections of the building, replacing rooflights, and repairing structural timbers using traditional methods and reclaimed materials. The Swan, an 18th-century coaching inn located on the A591, is a Grade II-listed building and sits within the English Lake District World Heritage Site. Proposed works include re-roofing most pitched roof sections with reclaimed Westmorland slate, installing new breathable membrane and tile battens, and replacing the leadwork in the valley gutters. The Lake District National Park Authority is still considering the application and has not yet made a decision.
