Joe Plenderleith is set to run 150km from Carlisle to Ulverston next month despite having knee surgery earlier this year.
The September 11 run will be in aid of Cancer Research UK in honour of his grandparents, who were both dedicated local ambassadors for the charity.
They died in 2021 and 2023 but previously hosted coffee and tea mornings across the Lake District in aid of the charity.
Not content with simply resting up, Joe came up with the idea of running across the Lake District as something to work towards.
On more serious matters, Joe spoke passionately about why it is so important to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
