The milestone took place at RSPB Campfield Marsh at Bowness-on-Solway, marking the first time the species has bred at an RSPB site in England. Osprey "Blue 571", who was ringed in Dumfries in June 2021, was joined in April by an unringed female at the reserve’s nesting platform.
