The junction at Lodge Hill, north of Abingdon, only has north-facing slip roads but the upgrade will add new south-facing slip roads. The southbound off-slip of the A34 has been closed to traffic at Lodge Hill since July 6 and reopened on Tuesday. On Monday, Oxford Road's southbound lane, from the junction heading into Abingdon, closed and will remain shut until September 16. The existing southbound bus stop on the Oxford Road is being relocated opposite the entrance to the Lodge Hill garage. This autumn, workmen will continue with the construction of the southern roundabout western section and the A34 southbound on slip.
