Between August 16 and 19, the region may experience a few spells of light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places. Heavy rain and brief intense heavy showers are likely in a few districts during the early morning and afternoon hours. From August 20 to 22, light rain and thundershowers are likely at scattered places. In its advisory, the Meteorological Department said heavy rain and brief intense heavy showers are possible in a few districts of the Jammu division, while brief intense showers may occur in one or two districts of the Kashmir division between August 16 and 19. The department cautioned that torrential rain and brief intense heavy showers could trigger flash floods, landslides and mudslides, particularly in vulnerable areas.
