Braintree Council has approved an application for a standalone frame housing a defibrillator and bleed kit on Bank Street, close to the Nationwide Building Society branch.
The proposal, submitted in June and granted last week, will see the equipment installed for public use, offering 24-hour access in emergencies.

However, due to limited wall space at the Braintree branch and the narrowness of surrounding pavements, a standalone frame has been proposed instead.
The installation is expected to have negligible impact on pedestrian access, with the frame placed alongside existing street furniture.
