A 15‑year review of the Thames Estuary (TE2100) 2100 Plan has found that sea levels in the estuary are rising more rapidly than earlier assessments suggested. TE2100 uses projections that imply more than 1m of relative sea level rise by 2100, from late‑20th century levels. The rate of sea level rise now matches the rate predicted in the Thames Estuary 2100 Plan. “While we focus on the Thames Estuary, sea level rise has global, long-term consequences.
