Grants will support tree planting that enhances biodiversity, creates wildlife habitats and helps in the fight against climate change. Carol Douglas, YDMT woodlands manager, said: "We’re really keen to speak to landowners about how we can help with funding and the resources to get trees into the ground this winter. The charity has worked with landowners to plant more than 1.7 million trees since 1997. YDMT also delivered 15 woodland management plans, and helped remove 69,200 plastic tree guards from woodlands in the Dales. The scheme can also support the restoration or creation of hedgerows that connect with existing woodlands and trees, and offers management grants for small woodlands.
