A hardware modder has constructed a custom liquid-cooling system for Valve’s compact Steam Machine using a CNC-machined copper block and an Alphacool pump. Reported CPU and GPU temperatures fell by approximately 20–30°C after conversion. A desktop CNC machine was used, making the result difficult to reproduce with ordinary consumer equipment. Replacing the factory cooling arrangement can therefore reduce airflow around components that are not attached directly to the liquid loop.
